Video Commercial Case Study
Clickstrings' own Khash Zarrin recently took the helm in both producing and directing a video commercial. He also undertook the task of scouting the talent that took part in the project, all to promote a brand new music creation app for iPad, developed by Avid. The objective was to craft a comprehensive advertisement lasting no more than one minute, with the flexibility to effortlessly generate shorter versions for paid social media placements.
Discussion
The initial phase involved engaging in discussions with the team to brainstorm preliminary ideas. This aimed at grasping the key features that Avid sought to emphasise and the overall message they wished to convey through this asset. Keeping these considerations in mind, several options were explored, ultimately giving rise to a preliminary concept.
Ideation
With the foundation of the initial concept in place, the process of storyboarding started to unfold, guided by several key considerations. These included steering clear of congested locations that might introduce distracting elements on screen, avoiding sites that could necessitate permits or licenses, which could potentially cause delays during the shoot. Moreover, the plan involved capturing scenes in multiple locations to highlight the software's portability and demonstrate its collaborative potential.
Creation
Once the Avid team approved the final storyboard, the shooting phase commenced. It was imperative to conduct multiple takes for each scene, incorporating angle variations to amass a wide array of options for the eventual selection of scenes for each section of the advertisement.
